The highly anticipated Jeezy album that seemed like it took forever to drop and surprised people with nice sales figures. Everyone thought Jizzle was done for and then he dropped a gold album with a couple commercially successful singles in "I Do" and "Leave You Alone"..

Now that we've had time to let this project marinate, what do we think about it? How does it rank in comparison to his other albums?? Favorite tracks???

Mean up Carter III, he had some bangerz.

Lollipop of course
Mr Carter
A Milli which most peeps' done remixes and banged the hell out of.
Even songs which weren't as "big" off the Album, got my attention, such as Shoot Me Down and Let the Beat Build.

Then there was this "highly" anticipation for Carter IV.

Which not only did not impress, yet also failed to carry on the "legacy" of Carter III.

I can't even name any tracks off Carter IV as I did not purchase it, because nothing on there, stuck out to me.

Yes not every tune from an artist, is gonna be a smash, but c'mon, I was eager [as a Wayne fan] for this album, to at least live up to some expectation.

Then there's this track "How To Love" it's allright but, c'mon this is Lil Wayne I'm talking about.

No he's not the best rapper, but he's good punchlines, and a consistency of "hits"

Maybe if he's tired, he should just sit down

Don’t get excited just yet. During his Made In America music festival announcement in Philadelphia earlier today, Jay-Z chatted with Billboard and revealed that he will not be releasing new music anytime soon as his focus is his daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

“I thought I would be more inspired to have all these new feelings to talk about, but I really just want to hang out with my daughter. I want to enjoy this time for what it is. I’m sure that bug to get back in the studio will come back at some point.”

Hov didn’t announce the acts who will be performing at the two day concert but said that about 70% of the lineup is already confirmed.

“You know me — I love the show of it. I will reveal them in time and we’ll do some silly things that no one understands and they’ll figure it out.”

Alright IC. This is my 1st thread, I hope it sparks some good discussion. I miss MCs talking slick on the mic and giving you food for thought too. From Kool Moe Dee, Rakim, KRS-1, X-Clan, PE, IceCube and later on Nas, Pac etc. Just like my parents taught me, I'm passing the knowledge down to my kids. Our history didn't start with slavery. For example, African Muslims sailed to the Americas centuries before Columbus did. While Europe was toiling in the dark ages, the African man was flourishing. Civilization, religion, art, mathematics, philosophy, etc. These are just some of the things we gave the world. This is what I teach my three kids. This is how my parents kept me from wanting to hang in the streets, they fed my brain. Black kids need to know shit like that. You mean to tell me we can't trick them into learning with a fancy hook or a dance. Here's another lil nugget. The inventor of steroids was a black man. Percy Julian, don't believe me, you got the internet, look him up.

Jay-Z appeared in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania earlier this morning to announce the two-day Budweiser “Made in America” festival, taking place in September.

While on the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum, Hov chopped it up with Billboard’s The Juice, explaining that he won’t be releasing new music anytime soon on account of his baby daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

“I thought I would be more inspired to have all these new feelings to talk about, but I really just want to hang out with my daughter,” said Jay. "I want to enjoy this time for what it is. I'm sure that bug to get back in the studio will come back at some point."

He also spoke on his relationship with Anheuser Busch and why he decided to partner with the company for the “Made in America” festival. He wouldn’t reveal who is on the bill - it’s being announced on May 21st - but he said that he’s got roughly 70 percent of the lineup locked in.

“I had a relationship with Anheuser Busch going back to Bud Select [in 2006], and all those things came together and piqued my interest as another way to make an iPod playlist that's gonna play for two days live,” he said, naming who he’s currently feeling in music at the moment. “I like all the new guys in the industry as far as rap. I discovered this new song - it's not really new, but it's a song that I love by Michael Kiwanuka. I really like what he's doing. There's a bunch I just can't think of right now.”

A collaborative mixtape between J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar has been long-rumored, but now, it appears that the project is finally becoming a reality.

“I just started working with Kendrick the other day," revealed Cole in an interview with Hot 97.5's . "We got it in, finally, again. [It's gonna be an] album, man,” he clarified.

“We actually worked, bouncing ideas, which was great. The vibe was so good that it was like, man, that’s absolutely gonna happen," he added.

“We got maybe four or five [songs] together."

During the interview, J. Cole praised Kendrick and Top Dawg Entertainment for placing a value on each of their releases. "So when Kendrick blows, you can go back and buy his mixtapes - because he called his mixtapes albums. So I really respect how they did it."
